Obituary for Thomas R. Richmond III

Thomas Richmond passed peacefully from this life the afternoon of March 19, 2019 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY. Thomas attended elementary school in Germany, New Mexico, and Williamsburg prior to moving to Lexington and attending Dunbar Junior High and graduating with Bryan Station Senior High School’s class of 1968. Tommy worked at IBM as a Senior Technical Support Engineer and retired in 2009 after 36 years of service.

Thomas was born on July 12, 1949 in Jellico, TN. He is preceded in death by his mother Catherine Miller Linton, his father, Thomas Benton Richmond, Jr.; two brothers, Maurice Richmond, and George Linton III. He is survived by his wife, Wanzella Richmond; four sons, Thomas Muhammad (Lora), Thomas Richmond IV, Jonathan (Toya) Richmond, and Jason Richmond; one sister, Catherine Richmond Crawford (Victor) of Accokeek, MD. Thomas also leaves behind six grandchildren: Lena, Jazmine, Dakhari, Rashad, Saudia, and Justin; and one great-granddaughter, Safia, a very special aunt, “Nan Greenlee” and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
